1. Does every fire extinguisher comes with bomba license?
Yes. The license can be obtained by a fire extinguisher maintenance company like New Tech (contractor), that has been registered with the eFEIS system.
2. How often do I need to renew the bomba license for fire extinguisher?
The bomba license must be renewed yearly.
3. How often do the fire extinguisher need servicing & maintenance?
If the fire extinguisher is used at your facility, you can send it to a licensed contractor like New Tech to service your fire extinguisher. If you did not use the fire extinguisher at all, it will still need to be serviced & maintained yearly, usually when you renew the bomba license.
4. What is the lifespan of a fire extinguisher?
The lifespan of a fire extinguisher is 10 years, as per the guideline of FIRE AND RESCUE DEPARTMENT OF MALAYSIA.
5. Can I relocate the fire extinguisher from registered premises?
No. Once a fire extinguisher is registered in the eFEIS system, you are not allowed to relocate the fire extinguisher or amend the registered address of the cyclinder.
6. Does New Tech service & maintain fire systems installed in buildings?
Yes. Our technical team conducts regular on-site services & maintenance of fire alarm systems in residential buildings such as apartments & condo and commercial buildings such as factories, warehouses & office buildings.
7. What happens during the on-site service & maintenance of fire system?
Our technicians will check & test the functionality of all fire devices and fire points in the building and conclude the service with a detail written report for your reference.
8. How often does the on-site service & maintenance need to be carry out?
It can be carried out monthly, bi-monthly, quarterly & bi-annually. Our consultants will advise accordingly after conducting a primary site visit (F.O.C) at said premises.
9. Why do we need to do on-site service & maintenance?
This is to ensure that all your fire devices & fire points are functional and in good condition so that it can be put to use when a fire occurs.
